Mental health support for Young People

No young person should face mental health challenges alone. That is why GAMH provides mental health support for Young People in Glasgow. We offer emotional support, advice and activities to support young people as they recover from mental health issues.

If you are aged 16 to 25 and are experiencing emotional struggles and the feelings of loneliness and isolation they bring, our services can help. Each GAMH programme is welcoming, safe, and led by trained support workers who care about your wellbeing.

    How to get support

GAMH services for Young people

GAMH offers four different mental health support for Young People services in Glasgow. Each one is designed to meet different needs.

The GAMH Compassionate Distress Response Service for Young People offers a safe place to talk about your emotions. Our team will listen with care and without judgement. We might find ways to help reduce your stress.

The Young Adult Mental Health Group offers fun activities such as music, podcasting, and creative arts. It is a safe space where you can get back into the community, learn life skills, and look after your mental and emotional wellbeing.

Mental health issues can leave us feeling lonely and cut off from others. The GAMH Social Isolation and Loneliness Service can help build your confidence and connect with others. Weekly groups include workshops and social activities like bowling, cinema trips, or meals out.

The Gro Well Healthy Eating project helps young people explore how food and wellbeing are linked. You can plant, grow, and cook healthy food, spend time outdoors and learn skills like budgeting and meal planning.

You cannot refer yourself or a family member to your support services for Young People. Referrals need to come from a support worker or agency, such as:

  • Your GP (Doctor)
  • Social work services
  •  CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services)
  • Youth health services
  •  Education
  • Other charities and third sector organisations.
