Gro Well Healthy Eating Project

The Gro Well Healthy Eating project is a support programme in Glasgow for young people aged 16–25 who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues. The project helps them understand how healthy eating supports good mental health, and how food connects with climate change and budgeting.

At Gro Well, Young People plant, grow, harvest, and cook healthy food. The project helps Young People build confidence, learn new skills, and take part in something that is good for both their health and the planet.

The Gro Well Healthy Eating project is a mental health group support programme run by GAMH. It helps Young People learn how healthy eating can support good mental health. It also covers the links between food systems and climate change.

At Gro Well, Young People learn how to seed, grow, harvest and cook healthy food. Sessions take place at the GAMH Community Hub in the city centre, and in beautiful Pollok Country Park. There Young People can spend time outdoors, cook together, and enjoy being part of a group.

How to join the GAMH Gro Well Healthy Eating Project

Each week, Gro Well members meet to learn about healthy food, food systems and budgeting for meals. At the GAMH Community Hub they learn how to plan and cook healthy meals. At Pollok Park, they spend time outdoors, planting and growing food.

Every group is led by a trained GAMH Young Adult Support Worker. Together, the group explores healthy eating, food systems and climate change.

Sometimes there are extra outdoor trips to other places around Glasgow.
