Time to Live Fund and Carer Voucher Scheme open for 2026/2027 applications
GAMH is encouraging unpaid carers across Glasgow to apply for the Time to Live Fund and Carer Voucher Scheme, with applications now open for 2026/2027. As one of Glasgow’s commissioned carer services and a delivery partner in the Glasgow City Carers Partnership, GAMH supports unpaid carers to access funding for a well-deserved short break from their caring responsibilities.
What is the Time to Live fund?
The Time to Live fund allows unpaid carers to enjoy a well-earned break from caring. Every caring role is different, so the fund is flexible and can be used in a way that best supports your wellbeing.
As part of GAMH’s work ensuring unpaid carers in the north east of Glasgow have access to information, advice and support[], we also help with applications to the Time to Live fund.
The Scottish Government funds Time to Live, and the scheme is managed nationally by Shared Care Scotland.

How can unpaid carers use Time to Live funding?
Time to Live provides unpaid carers with grants towards meaningful short breaks from caring. A grant from the Time to Live fund can be used for activities that provide a positive benefit to the unpaid carer, including:
- Taking an overnight break or short stay
- Taking part in a hobby or leisure activity
- A gym or fitness membership
- A wellbeing or spa experience
- Spending quality time with the person they care for or with family and friends
- Other activities that support the carer’s health and wellbeing.

What is the Carer Voucher scheme?
Being an unpaid carer can often leave little time or money for activities that support your own wellbeing. The Carer Voucher scheme offers carers like you prepaid vouchers they can use to take a break from caring.
The Carer Voucher scheme is delivered to unpaid carers in the north east of Glasgow by GAMH. Nationally, the scheme is funded by The Scottish Government and managed by Shared Care Scotland.

How does the Carer Voucher scheme work?
The Carer Voucher scheme offers vouchers for unpaid carers to enjoy time away from caring that benefits their own wellbeing. Subject to voucher availability, vouchers can be available for:
- Meals out
- Family days out
- Cinema trips
- Theatre shows
- Leisure and wellbeing experiences
- Seasonal attractions and experiences.
