Getting it Right for young people living with parental mental illness.
Young people from GAMH were supported by Article 12 in Scotland to respond to the most recent United Nations Convention for the Rights of the Child Concluding Observations. The report highlights the key issues and concerns highlighted by young people affected by parental mental illness. Some of the feedback from participants included:
“The government giveth and the government taketh away”
“Professionals must listen to us and not treat us all the same. Don’t assume you know what is best for me or what I am able to achieve”
